Chemopreventive effect of the non-psychotropic phytocannabinoid cannabidiol on experimental colon cancer
“Colon cancer affects millions of individuals in Western countries. We investigated its possible chemopreventive effect in the model of colon cancer induced by azoxymethane (AOM) in mice.
It is concluded that cannabidiol exerts chemopreventive effect in vivo and reduces cell proliferation through multiple mechanisms.”

This is a great first step in studying the impacts of cannabidiol on colon cancer. While this clearly isn’t a confirmation of treatment, these tests showed that the mice treated with cannabidiol had less instances of cancer as well as other positive responses.
This positive outcome should allow for researchers to continue studying the effects of CBD and continue to bring awareness to the power of this compound.
